'Troyes c.1450-1470 #1' Book of Hours, use of Troyes, (Troyes? c.1475-1485).
c.146ff. 162/165 x 108/109 mm, 14 lines textura script (80 x 64 mm)
Painted and gilted ivyleaf borders with achanthus and flowers by all major initials, executed in an archaic style mixed with elements from the last quarter of the 15th century.
A few panel borders with geometrical patterns on a ground of liquid gold. It cannot be excluded that they were added some time after the completion of the book.
Provenance unknown [2 bifolia sold Bloomsbury Auctions 591/2006 lot 8]. No miniature has been identified.

Contents
In February 2007 had only around 30 leaves been sold on the open market.
Essential parts of the Office of the Dead are known, and is all regular use of Troyes. [Transcripts will be supplied later].
Fragments from the Hours of the Virgin are known. It is so far in accordance with Troyes but not sufficient to secure the localisation. Neigther calendar, nor litany is known to me.

NB: The prayer is following immediately after the finish of the Office of the Dead (f.133v, rubric: 'Oratio.'//).
