This list includes all MSS listed in Seymour de Ricci, Les manuscrits de la collection Henry Yates Thompson, Societé française de reproductions de manuscrits à peintures, 10 (Paris, 1926), pp. 42-72 (also issued as an offprint, paginated [1]-35).

Much of the information below is derived from the annotated copy in the British Library Department of Manuscripts, a photocopy of which is available to readers in the manuscripts reading room, along with a typescript tabulation of (a) the British Library Yates Thompson MSS shelfmarks, (b) Yates Thompson MS numbers, and references to the (c) Yates Thompson Catalogues and (d) volumes of Illustrations. A few furhter details are derived from a similar list in Duke Humfrey's Library at the Bodleian.

The following are not yet incorporated:

- MSS from the Ashburnham Appendix disposed of by HYT

- MSS listed by de Ricci, Census, without an HYT MS number

- Other MSS known to have been owned by HYT but not given an HYT MS number
