Brolemann

Henry-Auguste (1775-1854) and Arthur (1826-1904) Brölemann

The manuscripts collected by Henry-Auguste Brölemann and his son Arthur may often be recognised by the printed octagonal blue-edged paper lable in the bottom left corner of the upper pastedown, inscribed with a shelfmark above price-code; the bookplate is not always present:

There is often also an inscription at the top edge of the front pastedown (as in the image on the right) or an adjacent fflyleaf, referring to the scarce privately-printed catalogue (Lyons, 1897), and another price-code. The manuscripts were inherited by Madame Etienne Mallet ad were sold at Sotheby's on 4 May 1926.
