Château d'Anet

Manuscripts from the Château d'Anet are usually inscribed in the upper right of the first leaf of the text with a distinctive paraph, preceded by a number in roman numerals, e.g. "vcxi" (i.e. 511):

and "iv(?)xxviii" (i.e. quatre-vingt huit):

The numerals are sometimes written out as words, e.g. "trente deux":

or "sept vingt un":

Many Anet books were bought by Guyon de Sardière, who wrote his name in them:

His marks of ownership are illustrated and described on the provenance site of Jean-Luc Deuffic, who also provides further information on his Pecia blog.
